Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of ELARO ("ELARO", "we", "us"), a course-review platform for students at participating universities, operated by Alidu Yakubu Suhyini Mansur ("Mansur"). By accessing or using ELARO, as a reader or as a contributor, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use ELARO.

1. Eligibility

ELARO is intended for current and former students of the universities ELARO supports (currently including the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), with more being added). Contributor accounts require verification tying the account to a real, identifiable person. You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep it up to date.

2. What ELARO does

ELARO lets named contributors write structured reviews of courses as taught by a specific lecturer in a specific academic year and semester, and lets readers browse those reviews and any linked study resources. Reviews reflect one student's experience and opinion, not an official or comprehensive assessment of a course or lecturer.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Tell us immediately at him@mansuralidu.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

4. Acceptable use

What content is and isn't allowed on ELARO, including the rule that reviews describe courses and teaching, not people, is set out in our Content Policy, which is part of these Terms. We may remove content, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate the Content Policy or these Terms.

You may not use ELARO to harass, defame, or shame any individual; post private or exam-confidential content you're not entitled to share; misrepresent your identity; or attempt to access or disrupt the service in unauthorized ways.

5. Contributor terms

If you submit a review or resource link ("Contributor Content"), you confirm that it reflects your genuine experience, is accurate to the best of your knowledge, and complies with the Content Policy, including that any description of a lecturer is descriptive of what happened in the course, not a personal or shaming judgment of them. You make this confirmation each time you submit, via a required certification on the submission form.

Contributor Content is published under your real name. You understand and accept that your name will be publicly visible alongside your review; see our Privacy Policy for how we handle this.

You grant ELARO a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to host, display, reproduce, and distribute your Contributor Content on the platform, for as long as the content remains published. You may request that a review be corrected or taken down by contacting him@mansuralidu.com; we handle takedown requests as described in the Content Policy. You are not paid for Contributor Content.

6. Disclaimers

ELARO is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Reviews are the subjective opinions of individual students, not verified facts, academic advice, or an official position of any university, college, department, or lecturer. We do not guarantee that content is accurate, complete, or current, and we are not responsible for decisions made in reliance on it.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Ghanaian law, Mansur and ELARO will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, or for the content of any review or resource link posted by a third party.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to ELARO at any time, particularly for violations of the Content Policy or these Terms. You may stop using ELARO and request account deletion at any time by contacting him@mansuralidu.com.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as ELARO grows. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do. Continued use of ELARO after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Ghana, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
